According to the yuriserv.com website, MikroTik has announced an interesting new device called the hAP be³ Media. It is designed to be much more than a traditional home router, combining triple-band Wi-Fi 7, five 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB and microSD storage options, Bluetooth 5.4, Matter and Thread support, and Docker containers in one compact system.
The router could serve as the central networking, media, storage, and smart-home hub for a modern home or small office. Its container support allows lightweight applications such as DNS filters, network tools, local dashboards, web services, and smart-home controllers to run directly on the router.
Support for MikroTik CAPsMAN also makes the hAP be³ Media suitable for networks with multiple access points. When properly configured, CAPsMAN and modern Wi-Fi roaming technologies can provide centralized management and smoother connections as users move between different areas of a home or office.
